THE 418 Scenic Design

This course will provide students with the advanced skills necessary for execution of scenic design. Students will design scenery for various theatrical productions with multiple sets and musicals. Different production venues such as proscenium, thrust, arena, and black box will be explored. Students will analyze scripts, research historical periods, draft ground plans and elevations, and build and paint scale models. Three lecture hours per week. Prerequisites: THE 214, THE 302, THE 313.
