EDC 772 - Methods of Teaching History and the Social Sciences I3 Credit(s) This course is designed to provide students with the training to be a teaching historian. It will offer a general study of the background and philosophies of teaching History, with a focus on methods and materials in the classroom, curriculum issues and professional concerns, analysis of the teaching/learning processes, reinforcement of national standards and the Massachusetts Common Core, and an introduction to the appropriate professional organization requirements. Three lecture hours per week. Field-based assignments are required.
Pre-requisite: Permission of the department chairperson
