GPH 378 Sustainable Water Resources Management

This course presents an integrated, geographic approach to sustainable water resource management which analyzes the physical and human dimensions of our exploitation of water. Concepts pertaining to watershed functioning, water quality, water pollution, water legislation, climate change impacts, and environmental, urban, and rural planning will be explored. The course will incorporate geographic information systems to better understand hydrographic data and the role of GIS in water resource planning, environmental impacts assessment, and water sustainability. Three lecture hours per week.
Concentration elective in B.S. Geography - Environmental Sustainability.
