SOC 339 Peoples of Africa II 3 Credit(s) Course focuses on the Southern African continent with emphasis on socio-cultural relations among the people who live in the region. The relation of the social structure to oppression is analyzed. An effort is made to put the new developments in the area in their proper perspective and students are encouraged to do an in-depth case study of countries such as Zimbabwe, Namibia, Mozambique, Angola, Tanzania and Azania. Three lecture hours per week. Prerequisite: SOC 110 or permission of Department Chairperson.
