BIO 117H Honors Biology 4 Credit(s) This course provides an introduction to the field of biology. Topics include the structure and function of DNA, biological molecules, cellular organelles, cell division, the principles of evolution, genetics, a survey of plants and animals, how ecosystems function and environmental issues. Three lecture hours and one two-hour laboratory per week, which may include a field trip to a local ecosystem such as the rock shore or salt marsh.
Prerequisities: Open only to students in the Honors Program. Not open to Biology or Nursing Majors. Not open to students who have completed BIO115H, or BI0116H, or BI0121, or BI0122, or BIO131, or BIO132
