ATR 712 - Electrophysical Agents4 Credit(s) This course provides both theoretical and clinical bases for the use of electrophysical agents as an adjunct to standard care in the rehabilitation process. The course emphasizes use of electromagnetic and acoustical energy to create physiologic responses within human tissue. The interventions will be discussed within the context of the principles of tissue healing, neurophysiology of pain, and neurophysiology of muscle performance. The associated physics, physiological effects, indication, contraindications, and application technique for each electrophysical agent will be discussed through the lecture and psychomotor components of this course. The course meets four (4) hours per week and is only open to and required of students enrolled in the Athletic Training master’s degree program.
Pre-requisites: ATR 700 , ATR 702 , ATR 704 , ATR 706 , ATR 708 .
Co-requisites: ATR 710 , ATR 714 , ATR 716 , ATR 718 .
