ATR 802 - Clinical Pathology & Pharmacology4 Credit(s) This course provides the student with knowledge and skills necessary to recognize pathophysiologic conditions of the human systems. The incidence, etiology, physiology clinical manifestations, relevant diagnostic testing, and potential differential diagnoses will be discussed. Emphasis is placed on developing psychomotor competency in medical screening and referral to the appropriate medical practitioner. Principles of pharmacotherapy interventions will be discussed with an emphasis on safe, ethical, and effective use. The effects of medication on human performance and the rehabilitation process will be covered. Four (4) lecture hours per week. This course is open only to and required of students enrolled in the Athletic Training master’s degree program.
