PSY 334 Psychopharmacology 3 Credit(s) Psychopharmacology is the study of how drugs affect the brain, behavior, and cognition. Topics will include basic neurotransmission, drugs of abuse, and drug therapies for psychological disorders. Students will study fundamentals of neural communication, the psychological effects of drugs, and how drug actions can be understood in terms of effects on the brain. Three lecture hours per week. Prerequisite: PSY 212 and three additional credits of courses numbered PSY 205 - 299.
