FIN 452 Insurance Planning

This course discusses the risk management process and guides students through the four primary risk management techniques – acceptance, transference, avoidance, and reduction - available to clients. Students will learn about the factors that affect premiums incurred by policy holders and how Insurers use risk pooling to pay for losses incurred by policyholders. This course prepares students to be able to advise and recommend appropriate methods for reducing household insurance costs of clients. Three lecture hours per week.
