ATR 802 - Clinical Pathology & Pharmacology

4 Credit(s) This course provides the student with knowledge and skills necessary to recognize pathophysiologic conditions of the human systems. The incidence, etiology, pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, relevant diagnostic testing, and potential differential diagnoses will be discussed. Emphasis is placed on developing psychomotor competency in medical screening and referral to the appropriate medical practitioner. Principles of pharmacotherapy interventions will be discussed with an emphasis on safe, ethical, and effective use. The effects of medication on human performance and the rehabilitation process will be covered. Limited to students enrolled in the Master of Science in Athletic Training program.
