 Note: If a course is used to satisfy two or more requirements, (for example, a support course and a distribution elective), the credits are counted in only one place. Using a course to satisfy more than one requirement does not reduce the total credits required for graduation. † Art major Foundation Requirements. The following courses must be completed in the student’s first year in the Art Department: ART  101 , ART  102 , and ART  203 . ART  303  must be completed in the student’s second year. This applies to transfer students as well. + Students concentrating in Art History must select 4 of the 8 following courses: ART  236 , ART  333A , ART  334A , ART  335 , ART  336 , ART 338 , ART 402 , and ART 432 . Since ART  333A , ART  334A , ART  335 , ART  336 , ART 338 , ART 402  and ART 432  are not taught every year, it is imperative that students sign up for these courses at the time they are offered.
