Purpose
The C.A.G.S. in Education program prepares school and district educational leaders who foster learning in all students, make collaborative decisions based on evidence, build and sustain communities of practice, and engage families and communities in the life and work of the school, and whose knowledge of policies, law, and practice help ensure a safe, ethical and productive educational workplace. The nationally accredited program uses a cohort model and structured collaborative learning. Students will design and develop an action research project based on a problem arising from their own practice and rehearse leadership tasks in real-school settings throughout the program, culminating in a two-semester practicum with support seminar. Students may pursue licensure as a school principal/assistant principal or district-level supervisor-director.
