This major requires a primary major in Education with a concentration in Early Childhood or Elementary Education. Students interested in Licensure as Art Specialists can change majors to Art with a concentration in Art Education PreK-8. See flowsheet for course requirements. Students completing the requirements for this second major and the primary majors listed below will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Education.

Please note that acceptance into the combined programs is not guaranteed, so students wishing to pursue educational licensure through one of our combined graduate/undergraduate programs should consult with their School of Education advisor. Special application requirements apply.

✝✝ This is contingent upon a student completion of a B.S. in Education with a concentration in Early Childhood
or Elementary Education.
+ A 300 level course in Crafts, Ceramics, Metals, or Sculpture
‡ Requires observation hours in an elementary art classroom
✝ For Fall semesters, may be substituted for studio or art history elective or
EDU 338A with the consent of the department chairperson.
Students who choose to leave the education major but wish to complete an Art major must choose an alternative Art + Design flowsheet.
