CSC 271 Introduction to Computer Systems 4 Credit(s) This course introduces the underlying concepts of computer systems. It is designed to provide students with an understanding of the hierarchy of abstractions and implementations that constitute a modern computer system. Topics include low-level programming using primitive machine instructions, processor control flow, low-level program control and debugging, and basic program management and structures. Three lecture hours and three hours of scheduled laboratory per week, plus extensive laboratory work outside of class. Prerequisite: CSC 202J .
