ENL 318 Food Writing 3 Credit(s) Writing about food is a unique literary experience that encourages not only introspection but also community engagement. Food writing explores such topics as cuisine and cultural identity, the global ecological impact of human consumption, and aesthetics and senses of taste. This course teaches food writing and its publication, analyzing such food writers as Laura Esquivel, M.F.K. Fisher, Ruth Reichl, and Michael Pollan.
Prerequisites: ENG102, ENL102 , ENG102E, ENL102ESL , ENG103, ENL103 , ENG106H, or ENL106H , sophomore standing, or permission of the chairperson.
