AGS 715 - Historical & Sociological Perspectives on Education3 Credit(s) This course will examine the social purposes of education and the role of the school in society in both historical and contemporary contexts. Topics will include traditional and current curriculum and policy responses to social needs, the school’s role in community education, the social responsibility of educators, and the function of schools in the economic order.
Prerequisite: Acceptance into the Salem State College/Northeast Consortium CAGS Program.
