IDS 820 - Human Sexuality

3 Credit(s) A review of the subject matter and pedagogy of human sexuality as a topic in the secondary curriculum. The course will examine topics such as human anatomy and physiology, reproduction, the language of sexuality, birth control and abortion, masculinity and femininity, homosexuality, variations of sexuality, pornography, rape, masturbation and venereal disease. Class discussions, role-playing, films and TV tapes, and a variety of other learning techniques will be used as methods of learning about these subjects and as illustrations of methods that can be used in the secondary classroom. Each student will be expected to complete a major project.
