BIO 313 Molecular Biology of Gene Cloning 4 Credit(s) An introduction to major concepts and experimental techniques in molecular biology. This course examines the synthesis of RNA, proteins, and the regulation of these processes. Molecular biology techniques covered in lecture include PCR, gene cloning, primer design, the basics of DNA and protein sequence analysis (bioinformatics), DNA assembly and qRT-PCR. Laboratories will focus on methods used in cloning DNA. Three lecture hours and one three-hour laboratory per week.
