EDU 350 Children’s Literacy Special Topics in Jumpstart 3 Credit(s) Literacy growth will be viewed as part of a developmental continuum progressing from oral language acquisition, speaking, and listening, through the use of language, letter, and sound understanding, invented spelling, beginning writing, and emergent reading. The specific content and topic of the course will be designated by the instructor(s) and vary when offered. Students can take the course multiple times, up to a maximum of three, for additional credit, provided that a different topic is covered in each instance. Three lecture hours per week plus participation in the Jumpstart program.
Prerequisites: Permission from the department Chair.
