IDS 485 Community Organizing II

This course builds on the material covered in IDS 285  Community Organizing I, building on that knowledge and applying it to specific Community/Grassroots organization. Students are required to do field work in an organization involved in community/grassroots work. Students learn and practice community organizing, and program development skills appropriate for community and legislative audiences supervised by college faculty and organization/agency staff. One and one-half lecture hours each week and a total of seventy-two hours of field work. Prerequisite: IDS 285  or permission of department chairperson.
