OCT 398 Information and digital Literacy for Promoting OT

This course provides students with an introduction to the concepts and practices of information literacy, including critical thinking skills used to identify and evaluate diverse information sources. Students will learn best practices to locate resources needed to successfully engage in the teaching-learning and research process, to become effective learners and educators. Students will explore their own teaching methods and learning preferences while considering the needs and abilities of current audience to develop best methods for sharing information. Students will develop an appreciate the value of technology to develop learning materials demonstrating the role of occupation in health promotion. Four lecture hours per week. Open to OT Majors only
