FIN 457 Personal Income Tax Planning

Tax planning is a key component of financial planning. The primary focus of this course is to familiarize students with the various provisions in the tax code used to minimize personal tax liabilities. Students will explore and analyze complex legal, tax, and financial issues and develop the basic tools necessary to advise clients in tax planning matters. Students will also consider the socio-economic effects of tax laws, regulations, and policies. Three lecture hours per week plus work outside of class. 
Prerequisite: ACC106
