3 Credit(s) DPDS
Introduction to Ethnic Studies provides a critical interdisciplinary exploration of race, racism, and liberation movements centering the histories, experiences, cultures, and contemporary struggles of Black Indigenous People of Color in the United States. A focus is on how racialized groups use art, culture, political organization, and other forms of social citizenship to respond to and counter these forces. This interdisciplinary course develops students’ cultural competency, self-awareness, and racial literacy, alongside critical investigative, and advocacy skills for a just society. 3 credit hours.
