Teacher Leadership, Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS)

Objective

The Salem State College Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) in Teacher Leadership is a 39 credit certificate program that recognizes the essential role that teacher leadership plays in the work of creating equitable, high performing schools. Using the tools and structures of critical friendship and professional community, the Teacher Leadership CAGS develops teacher leaders that have (1) a deep understanding of how schools, adults, and students learn, and (2) the facilitative skills necessary to build schoolwide professional communities that are reflective, collaborative, and consistently focused on issues of teaching and learning.
